With your results you will get answers to the questions that have been plaguing you for a while now. These will delve into the following healthy weight areas and providing a genetic profile for each:
Your weight loss ability: how able is your body at losing weight? Do you have the genes that will encourage weight loss and keep it off or more unfavorable genes that will make it tougher for you to lose weight?
How your body uses carbs, proteins as well as fats: what proportions of fat, carbohydrate and proteins should you have in your diet? What are the right recommendations for your genetic makeup but also for your age, height and gender?
Nutrients & vitamins: What nutrients and vitamins do you need? While vitamins and micronutrients are not directly involved in weight loss, they support functions in our body which affect your weight. Find answers to whether your genes may channel you towards any deficiencies, which nutrients and vitamins you should be taking more of and what foods you can get them from.
Cardio response/strength training/exercise regimes: Knowing how much you should exercise and understanding the exercise factors that enable you to lose weight is crucial! How does your genetic profile affect your response to cardio exercises? How intense should your workouts be? How often? What about your genetic profile for weight training? This section also includes details about your glucose response and much more.

Hair Drug Testing
How does the Hair Drug test work?
Since the bloodstream carries nourishment to produce new hair, scientists are able to identify the ingestion of drugs of abuse by simply analyzing a hair sample. Using Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) methodology and a variety of mass spectrometry techniques, scientists measure the drug molecules embedded inside the hair shaft. Through this method, which has been approved by multiple accrediting agencies, any chances of external contamination are totally eliminated. In fact, hair testing results cannot be altered through the use of shampoos or any other external contaminants or chemicals.
Why choose this Hair Strand Drug test?
When compared to other drug testing methods, hair sample testing is known to detect a much longer period of drug use. The test’s standard window of detection for head hair is 90 days whilst body hair samples are noted for having an approximately 12-month time-frame. On the other hand, urinalysis (urine testing) can only detect most drugs within 2 to 3 days of use. After this period, the tested person will result negative and slip through the screening process. This is important in pre-employment testing since most candidates are aware that a drug test might be required and might try to delay or avoid it.

What Drugs of Abuse are tested for?
The Hair Drug Screening test tests for a variety of illegal drugs. An extended testing option is also available for clients who wish to test for additional substances. Why don’t you take a look at the full list of drugs tested for and different testing panels available?
Hair Sample Collection Procedure
In the Hair Drug test kit, you will find a hair specimen pouch, collection foil and a clear plastic transport bag. The sample collection process is relatively simple and easy. However, please make sure to read the below instructions for a successful collection.
• More than 60 milligrams or 90-120 strands of hair is required
• Take hair from several places around the crown
• Do not use head hair if it is shorter than ½ inch long, in such a case use body hair only
• If you take body hair, you must mark on the sample collection form that body hair was collected
• Make sure not to mix head hair and body hair
Legal Hair Drug testing
At EasyDNA, we understand that you may need this test for reasons such as pre-employment or a court case which require legally defensible drug test results. That is why we are offering you the option to upgrade to a legal Hair Drug test for just an additional $250! Please note that legal testing requires a doctor or professional sampler to collect the hair sample and verify the identity of the donor. The sample collection kit will be sent directly to your nominated sampler. Should you be interested in this upgrade, make sure to select the respective option when ordering the test.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between anonymous and legal testing?
Anonymous hair drug testing does not require a registered sampler to confirm the identity of the tested person and limited documentation is involved. It is also important to note that non-legal results do not mention the donor’s name. This type of testing is recommended for personal use such as a parent testing a sample of their teenager’s hair. On the other hand, legal hair drug testing needs a doctor or professional sampler to collect the hair sample and confirm the tested person’s identity. The sampler is requested to clearly and completely fill out the chain of custody form provided. Legal testing is ideal for clients who need legally defensible results for reasons such as pre-employment or a court case.
Is the name of the donor included in the test results?
The result for the non-legal version of hair drug testing does not mention the donor’s name and is reported as an “anonymous” donor. This is because there is no third party verification of the identity of the client. Clients should opt for a legal version of the test if they want the donor’s name to be included.
How soon after use can a drug be detected in a hair sample?
It takes around 5 to 10 days from the time of drug use for the hair follicle containing the drug to grow above the scalp where it can be collected.
Does body hair give the same type of results as head hair?
Body hair is accepted for Hair Drug testing. However, it represents a more distant time frame than head hair and the approximate time period cannot be identified due to the high variability of growth rates.
Does hair colour affect the results?
Hair colour is determined by the amount of melanin in the hair. It has been shown experimentally and determined in court that it has no significant impact on results.
Can hair collected from a brush be used?
Yes, it can be used but the test will be reported as having an “anonymous” donor. The laboratory cannot attribute the sample to a specific person and cannot determine the time frame of the test i.e. the test result will not be legally defensible.
Can external exposure to drugs affect the results?
Scientists at the laboratory wash all hair specimens prior to confirmation testing to remove any possible extermination. To rule out the possibility of external contamination, they also look for both the parent drug and metabolite (bi-product) of drug usage. This metabolite is only produced by the body and cannot be an environmental contaminant.

Genetic Predisposition Test
Genetic Predisposition DNA Testing For Health & Disease
The Genetic Predisposition Health DNA Test is based on recent scientific research that has established that many medical conditions common in Western society have a genetic basis. By looking at your DNA profile, this test will allow you to establish whether you have a genetic predisposition toward developing any one of 34 diseases and conditions, whether you are at high risk for developing a particular disease, and your estimated lifetime risk compared to the average population.
The Predictive Power of DNA
This genetic test is based on the study of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNP’s), particular areas of the DNA that have been associated with the onset of disease. This test will analyse your DNA profile to see if your DNA contains key markers associated with the development of a particular disease. This test will be able you take control of the future of your health, knowing you are at risk will enable you to take the necessary steps in order to prevent the onset of a particular condition.

The Importance of Genetic Counselling
When undertaking the Genetic Predisposition Test we strongly recommend that you do this under the guidance of a genetic counsellor for BOTH pre and post-test counselling. They will be able to provide you with the necessary expertise to assist you in interpreting your results and understand the difference between what is hereditary and environmental on your personalized predisposition report. Please note that GTLDNA does not provide genetic counselling services – therefore it is your responsibility to organize this assistance prior to ordering the test.
Who should take this DNA test?
Everyone can benefit from taking control of his or her health in order to achieve the best possible health future. Knowing your level of genetic predisposition toward developing particular conditions can help both you and your children live healthier and longer lives. If you have a family history of a particular disease, the Genetic Predisposition DNA Health test will tell you if you have inherited the same tendencies, and enable you to take the necessary steps to prevent its onset.
It’s all about your Genes and your Health
After examining your DNA, we will create a personalised report. In your report, as displayed in the sample report, each condition will be ranked according to your estimated lifetime risk, and will be qualified as high, medium or low risk. High risk conditions are the ones where extra care should be taken by you: by requesting more frequent screening diagnostics of the disease, or by making the necessary lifestyle adjustments.
Invest In Your Health
Upon ordering this test we will send you our home DNA sampling kit. The kit makes collecting DNA samples quick and easy and comes with 4 oral swabs that must be rubbed on the inside of the mouth and under the tongue for ten seconds. The swabs must then be allowed to dry by being left upright in a glass for one hour before being placed in the coloured envelope and sent back to the lab.

NATA Accredited DNA Paternity Testing
When is a NATA accredited test required?
GTL’s NATA accredited DNA paternity testing (NATA is the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia) is essential when under age children are involved in parentage testing. The NATA accredited legal test can be used for purposes such as family law court disputes, child maintenance issues, changing a child’s birth certificate and also for immigration purposes involving under age children. The majority of government departments in Australia require a DNA paternity test to be NATA accredited for it to be acceptable. Therefore, if you need your test result submitted to a governmental department, then this would be the most suitable legal test and available at a very Special Price From $495
Once we receive all the samples and paperwork and they have been approved, test will commence. The results will be available 5 to 7 working days later and will initially be emailed to you.
Steps to follow in a NATA accredited paternity test
Step 1: Place your order online or with us over the phone. The cost of our NATA legal DNA paternity test is $550.00 (price excluding any fees charged by the sampler). Once your order has been confirmed, we will arrange to send you the paperwork that you will need by e-mail or regular post.
Step 2: Your forms will be sent via email when you place your order, once you have received your forms you need to organise two (2) passport sized photos of each donor. These do not need to be actual passport photos, but must be passport sized, full frontal original colour photos with none of the facial features obscured.
Step 3: Find a doctor or nurse to collect your samples. We will need the name and address of the doctor or nurse (Sampler) who will collect your samples. We will send your collection kit via post to the Sampler and you can contact the Sampler and arrange for an appointment to have your samples taken.
Step 4: On the day of your collection, but prior to your collection, you must go to a Justice of the Peace (JP) or Equivalent and have your Affidavit witnessed. It is very important that you arrange your appointment for collection allowing time to go to the Justice of the Peace prior to your collection.
Step 5: Take all of your paperwork to your Sampler – doctor/nurse, including the signed Affidavit, Collection Form, and the parentage testing information sheet. The collector will return all paperwork along with the samples directly to GTL.
Upon receiving your samples and paperwork directly from the Sampler, we will review the paperwork and samples against our Family Law Regulations and NATA guidelines. If there are any issues with the paperwork or samples, we will contact you as soon as possible.
For a legal paternity test to have validity as proof of relationship in legal cases and immigration cases, it must be performed by a NATA and ISO17025 accredited laboratory. If you do not need the test for immigration purposes, you may wish to read about our legally verified DNA test which is non-NATA accredited.
